Oh where do I start, the last week has just been a nightmare for me and was so annoyed and down that I just couldnt be bothered to do anything.I suppose I should really start at the beginning.
Well it is 5 weeks today since my op and Im still having problems with my belly button.Last Tuesday,I had to leave work at 11 to go to A&E,as my belly button was really sore and started to bleed very badly. The A&E doc took some bloods and felt around the area and agreed that something wasnt right and that it looked like it was infected as there was a very strong disgusting smell coming from it.The doc contacted a Gynae and asked him to see me.
I went to the Gynae clinic and thought that I would see a member of the team that I was under but I seen a Gynae who I never met before. He said that the infection looked as if it was coming from the inside out and prescribed me antibiotics,he also took a swab from the area and told me to go back on Friday morning and if it didnt clear up I would have to go on IV antibiotics.I started taken the antibiotics on Tuesday which cost me €75.00.
On Friday I went back to see the Gynae and my belly button had not improved. He said that ''IT IS NORMAL'' for my belly button to be bleeding 5 weeks on as its the tissues healing inside and that the green puss is coming out from the inside and not to be concerned. He also told me that if I wanted to stop the antibiotics I can as he didnt have my results back so he couldnt confirm if I had an infection or not.
This is my 13th lap and I have never experienced anything like this before. So Im now back to square 1,still have a horrible smelly belly button that bleeds every so often.I have also started to get really bad cramps but that from the Mirena but I am goin to give my body a chance to get use to the Mirena as its my last hope.
I suppose I just have to keep an eye on my belly button from now on as the Gynae doesnt seen to be too bothered by it................................................
